Thrive Personnel Ltd are seeking a motivated and skilled Account Manager/Sales Representative to join our client, a leading timber manufacturing business based in Tilbury. This role is essential for building and maintaining long-term client relationships while generating and nurturing new customer connections across the South of England. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, preferably in the builders or timber merchant sector, and will demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
Actively seek out and engage potential customers through face-to-face visits, showcasing our range of plywood products and their benefits.
Maintain an outstanding product knowledge to effectively address customer inquiries and provide tailored solutions.
Keep clients informed about market changes, including relevant legislation and commercial developments that may impact their business.
Work independently and manage your own time effectively, demonstrating proactivity in pursuing sales opportunities.
Track and report on sales performance, consistently aiming to exceed targets and contribute to the overall success of the company.
Identify areas for improvement in service delivery and product offerings, ensuring a first-class experience for all customers.
Requirements:
Experience in the builders or timber merchant industry and sheet materials is desirable but not essential.
Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and through various channels such as phone and email.
Self-motivated with a strong initiative to drive sales and enhance customer relationships.
Proven track record of exceeding sales targets in a relevant field.
Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and deliver exceptional customer service.
While this role does include an element of new business, successful candidates will be provided with a ledger of existing clients to develop and account manage.
