Due to continued international growth, our client, who are an award-winning designer and manufacturer, have an exciting opportunity for a diligent and experienced individual to join their team in the UK. The successful candidate will manage the company’s environmental compliance and drive the change required around a sustainability agenda that will be central to the company’s strategy.

The successful candidate will be working as part of the team in the UK to serve customers to include many of the world’s leading multinationals across the finance, technology, automotive, pharmaceutical and professional service sectors.

The successful individual will take the lead in making our business more robust and attractive to customers wishing to achieve BREEAM, LEED and/or WELL Building certification on new projects. This will involve getting under the skin of the products to gather information from the material and component supply chain in order to fulfil the criteria required to publish LCAs and EPDs.

Core responsibilities of the Sustainability Manager

  1. Work with our design team to challenge decisions around materials and supply chain.
  2. Make yourself an expert in the relevant clauses of BREEAM, LEED and WELL v2.
  3. Gather information from our component suppliers and their materials and finishes supply-chain to allow you to build a comprehensive picture of each product at base material and chemical level.
  4. Become familiar and efficient at uploading data into portals, in order to achieve approvals for Declare Labels or Health Product Declarations, which can then be published on the relevant databases to drive future specifications.
  5. Successfully compile and publish LCAs and EPDs for products and materials.
  6. Train the internal teams to increase the general knowledge and confidence around the Environmental, Social and Governance agenda.
  7. Take responsibility for the completion of the ESG sections of new bids and present the information to customers and targets.
