HGV Workshop Technician Tipton Full time Permanent Up to £23ph, DOE

The roles and responsibilities of the HGV Workshop Technician:

  • A wide variety of servicing and repair work
  • Contribute towards effective “preventative maintenance”
  • Prepare and submit vehicles to a standard appropriate for the issuing of an annual test certificate
  • Liaise with parts suppliers to ensure correct parts are issued to complete jobs efficiently and within the requirement timescale
  • Accurately complete relevant paperwork including job cards and service sheets using online systems to the required standard
  • Ensure ISO & Health and Safety regulations are always adhered to

What you need to succeed as an HGV Workshop Technician:

  • City and Guilds Level 1, 2 and 3 / NVQ Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years HGV workshop experience
  • The ability to work alone and use initiative to find faults
  • A good understanding of HGVs including diagnostic fault finding
  • HGV Class 2 driver’s license (desirable)
  • Ability to liaise directly with suppliers, drivers and control
  • General technical ability
