Job Purpose:
We are working with a clieht who are looking to recruit Refuse and Cleansing Operatives to join there team in Caerphilly where you will play a crucial role in providing an efficient and effective waste collection and cleansing service across the County Borough. Your responsibilities will include the removal of waste, detritus, and bulky items from various locations, ensuring all public spaces remain clean and welcoming for all residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake cleansing rounds, which include litter picking and sweeping for long distances, as well as loading heavy items.
- Assist in the operation of Household Waste Recycling Centres, aiding the public with unloading bulky items, segregating recyclable materials, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Be available for out-of-hours attendance to assist emergency services as required.
- Perform yardman duties such as driving forklifts, loading/unloading vehicles, and managing stock control.
- Engage with community initiatives and events, promoting recycling and environmental awareness.
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Participate in various environmental and educational initiatives while providing exemplary customer service to all borough residents.
- Document and report any vehicle or equipment maintenance needs.
Working Conditions:
- Work a 37-hour week, covering various shifts as directed by your Supervisor, primarily on-site.
- Flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays, and in various weather conditions is required.
