Our client designs and manufactures advanced equipment for use in global manufacturing industries. We are currently seeking an Electronics Test Systems Engineer to join their Production Engineering Team. This is an exciting opportunity to expand and broaden your electronics/software/engineering skills within a hands-on production engineering environment.

Skills and Experience sought will include:

Good understanding of electronic principles and logic circuits.

Ability to read and understand schematics.

Good understanding of electronic signal processing and analysis using standard components (eg. op-amps, comparators, multiplexers etc.)

Good electronic fault finding skills.

Experience with PCB design and associated software applications (eg. Proteus, LT Spice or similar).

Experience with Instrumentation devices and calibration.

Experience of working in a production/production support environment.

Experience of equipment development, programming, commissioning and maintenance ideally with knowledge of C, C++ and PLC systems.

The following skills will be beneficial although not essential:

Experience of producttestand certification requirements includingtestmethodologies.

Experience of development of scalable production test databases using open source tools such as Python and MySQL.

Use of Matlab programming.

Some experience/understanding of Linux development in manufacturing environments.

Understanding of database development (eg. MySQL, Maria DB).

Experience of high voltage equipment, measurement methods and data analysis an advantage.

Familiarity with instrumentation and data capture systems, results analysis and presentation (for example, NI data capture, LabVIEW).


Responsibilities of the role will include:

Supporting the handover of New Product Developments into production, working to ensure efficient on time release of new products focussing on final product test and sub-assembly build testing.

Creation ofproduct and test documentation, including testplans, generation and presentation of testreports, etc.

Definition and development of testequipment and instrumentation, data capture, processing and analysis.

Creation of detailed solutions totestrig hardware requirements (hardware design).

Gain early understanding of mechanics, electronics, software and test requirements being considered and their potential impact upon production and suppliers.

Support Purchasing through early involvement with CEMs (Contract Electronics Manufacturers) to define production, test and quality requirements, in-line with company's gated process.

Supporting the roll out of product design changes into production, consulting with NPD and purchasing.

Work to ensure the most cost-effective manufacturing processes are taken into consideration when introducing new products and design changes into operations.

Maintain a strong collaboration with NPD team.

Day to day production support for manufacturing and product testing processes.
