gap personnel are hiring a Legal Assistant (Private client & Family) for our client to work in Tiverton, Devon. Our client is an award-winning, Legal 500-recommended law firm with many offices. The salary is £22,000-£24,000 PA. The working hours are 9.00am – 5.15pm Monday – Friday. Salary reviews and career progression are ongoing. We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant to join our busy private client and family team in Tiverton. We are ideally seeking someone with some experience in either working in a law firm or having studied law as an A Level or Degree.  Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Assist solicitors with general admin tasks, including document preparation and filing.
  • Client Correspondence: Draft letters, emails, and legal documents under supervision.
  • Diary Management: Schedule client meetings, court dates, and solicitor appointments.
  • Telephone & Reception Duties: Handle client enquiries, take messages, and manage incoming calls.
  • Legal Research: Conduct basic legal research to support fee earners where required.
  • Confidentiality Compliance: Ensure all client information is handled securely and in line with GDPR.
  • Document Management: Photocopy, scan, and organise legal documents and correspondence.
  • Court Bundles & Filing: Prepare court bundles and liaise with courts or third parties as necessary.
  • Support Solicitors & Legal Executives: Provide general assistance to fee earners across private client and family law matters.
  • Stationery & Office Supplies: Monitor and order office supplies to support daily operations.
