ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a detail-oriented professional with experience in payroll? We're looking for a Payroll Officer to join a highly motivated team and manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring their employees are paid accurately and on time. This role is vital to maintaining smooth payroll operations, compliance with UK legislation, and providing excellent support to their employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- End-to-End Payroll Processing: Process monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment.

- Employee Payroll Queries: Serve as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries, providing clear and timely responses.

- Statutory Compliance: Ensure payroll activities comply with HMRC regulations, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions.

- Data Entry & Validation: Accurately input and validate employee data, including timesheets, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.

- Reporting & Reconciliation: Prepare and distribute payroll reports, working closely with the Finance and HR teams.

- System Maintenance: Update and maintain payroll systems, contributing to system improvement projects as needed.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications: Experience in payroll administration; a CIPP qualification (or working towards one) is a plus but not essential.

SKILLS:

- Strong numeracy and attention to detail.

- Proficiency in payroll software

- Familiarity with UK payroll legislation, including pensions, SSP, SMP, and tax codes.

- Experience: Previous experience as a Payroll Officer or in a similar role within the UK, with a solid understanding of HMRC guidelines.
