We have an opening for a Food and Beverage Assistant Manager. Because we are in a rural area, please think about how you’d be able to get here for work, before applying for the job.

Hours: You will work 5 days over 7 including one day at the weekend plus bank holidays as we are a year round business. Generally your shifts will be 10am-6pm/9.30am-5.30pm depending on the needs of the business. During December, Knightshayes opens later for the Christmas lights therefore there will be an expectation to work your share of the 11.30am-7.30pm shifts.

Salary: £23,868

Knightshayes Court is a Victorian property, a couple of miles outside the market town of Tiverton therefore ideally you would need your own transport.

The Stables cafe offers a varied menu & we cook on site including our amazing cakes & scones.

We are fortunate to have an Organic Kitchen garden - we use this wonderful produce in our menus where possible.

We also have a small Conservatory cafe next to the main house which serves a range of hot/cold drinks, cakes & bakes etc.

We are open 7 days a week, only closing for 3 days over Christmas.

What you'll be doing

As Food and Beverage Assistant Manager, you’ll be working closely with the Food and Beverage Manager. You’ll be helping to look after the entire operation, keeping consistently high standards in the team, in the outlets, and in the food and drink we prepare and serve. You’ll always have an eye on ways to improve service and standards for our visitors.

You’ll support the team to help build a great place to work. This could include helping with recruiting and training new people or developing the team. You’ll make sure that the team follow all relevant legislation and National Trust policies.

You’ll be setting and achieving financial targets to increase income and profits. This could be by driving sales through controlling resources and achieving the best possible customer service.

We’ll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
