Head Office Accountant – Permanent PositionA growing business is seeking a Head Office Accountant to take ownership of financial accounting and reporting for the central function. This role will be responsible for producing accurate financial statements, managing intercompany transactions, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with the wider finance team and key stakeholders to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting & Compliance:- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, balance sheet, and P&L accounts.- Complete financial close processes, including reconciliations and performance analysis.- Prepare management accounts with commentary on key financial indicators.- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.Intercompany Transactions & Management Recharges:- Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions, ensuring alignment across entities.- Prepare and process management recharges and resolve any queries.Budgeting & Cost Control:- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting, ensuring financial alignment with company objectives.- Provide variance analysis and cost reports to support decision-making.Cashflow & Treasury Management:- Monitor cash flow and manage weekly payment runs.- Ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.Audit & Tax:- Support internal and external audits, preparing documentation and responding to queries.- Assist with VAT, corporate tax, and statutory filings.Candidate Profile:- Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).- 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in a multi-site business.- Strong understanding of intercompany transactions and financial reporting.- Experience with Xero is highly desirable.- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders.This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant looking to play a key role in a dynamic finance team.
