About the Client:

Our client is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of magnetically shielded products and rooms. With a new state-of-the-art factory and cutting-edge technology, they’re doubling production capacity during a significant period of expansion. Specialising in bespoke magnetic shielding solutions, they serve an expanding customer base across the UK, Europe, USA, and Asia, ensuring superior service and quality across all production processes.

This is a hands-on role suited for an experienced Quality Professional with expertise in quality control and process improvement within a manufacturing environment.

The Role:

As a Quality Engineer, you’ll be responsible for promoting a strong quality culture across the organisation and ensuring compliance with internal and customer standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating product inspections with the quality technician to meet production deadlines
  • Planning and conducting regular internal audits
  • Creating key documentation and managing internal/external non-conformance reports
  • Investigating root causes and coordinating corrective actions
  • Supporting ISO 9001 management duties (creating SOPs, process flows)
  • Ensuring supplier quality compliance and addressing customer concerns
  • Managing quality targets and maintaining KPIs
  • Supporting calibration systems and quality control processes (FMEAs/8D methods)

Essential Skills:

  • Fine limit sheet metal inspection experience
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and measurement techniques
  • Experience with non-conformance reports and root-cause investigations
  • Proficiency in FMEA, 8D, and AQAP processes (PPAP knowledge is a plus)
  • ISO 9001 knowledge and experience
  • Excellent communication skills for internal and external coordination
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • IT and ERP system proficiency

Desirable Skills:

  • CMM experience
  • ISO 9001 audit experience
  • UK manufacturing experience
  • Supplier and contractor management experience
