Facilities Manager

Client Details

We are seeking a Facilities Manager to manage all matters relating to our buildings and grounds. This position will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and safe running of the estate and will report directly to the Director of Estates.

Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain all aspects of buildings and grounds, including but not limited to repairs, maintenance, health & safety, and cleanliness.
  • Advise the Director of Estates and provide recommendations on facilities management, improvements, and issues related to buildings and grounds.
  • Oversee and manage database systems relevant to facilities management, including Planned Maintenance, Helpdesk, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Effectively monitor and manage financial budgets for the facilities management section, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure that all facilities and grounds comply with relevant health and safety regulations and policies.
  • Regularly assess and report on the overall condition of buildings and grounds, identifying areas that require attention or improvement.
  • Supervise and manage any relevant staff or contractors, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards.
  • Provide support and guidance on all facilities-related matters to the wider team.

Profile

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • Relevant professional or trade qualifications (Building Craft, Surveying, or Health and Safety background/qualifications).
  • A comprehensive understanding of building construction regulations and procedures.
  • Solid supervisory experience in Facilities/Estates Management.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and monitor financial performance.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and best practices.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in managing a range of building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices within facilities management.
