Our Client

Our client is a Tonbridge based charity that supports and cares for adults with learning disabilities. They deliver excellent services in a friendly, nurturing environment where people gain the confidence and skills to lead fulfilled, happy and independent lives.

Their unique offering provides three linked services: a Residential Care Home; a Supporting Independence Service and an on-site Day Service which provides courses and activities to over 80 students each week.

They are currently seeking a dynamic Fundraising, Community Engagement and PR Manager to help drive the charity through the next stage of its development

The Role

To lead the development of their profile and engagement with the charities stakeholder community including community fundraising, networking, events, facilities hire and the associated marketing and social media efforts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the PR & Marketing Strategy, Plans and Activities.

  • Setting and maintaining the overall marketing strategy for the charity the DS and external Facilities hire
  • Create marketing material
  • Identify feeder organisations for SUs and working with the Manager, DS Skills and Activities in delivering presentations; managing relationships and providing feedback to them
  • Assuming responsibility for the website to ensure that it is visually appealing; well-structured and has high quality and timely content covering all of the charities activities for stakeholders (Service Users, Feeder Organisations, Local Community, Donors, Staff, etc)
  • Assume responsibility for generating interesting content across an appropriate array of social media platforms, continually raising and enhancing the profile in conjunction with the DS blogger
  • Develop plans and marketing materials for facilities hire, and lead efforts to optimise revenues
  • Update and maintain the KISS database

    Manage community and stakeholder engagement, continually improving SPTs profile and reputation.

  • Lead engagement with businesses, chambers of commerce, non-profits such as Lions Clubs, schools, town events, local media, etc for purposes including fundraising, volunteer programmes, days of service etc
  • Ensure events both internal and external have cohesion and relevance, are well-planned, well-communicated and well-attended
  • Continually review community fundraising sponsored events, local organisations, etc - and seek new sources of funding, and complete monitoring reports for previous grants

    Participate actively in the overall leadership and management of SPT.

  • Working with the Senior Management Team and the CEO and other staff for overall success - contributing to strategic plans and taking overall responsibility for managing reputation.
  • Setting standards of professionalism, embracing technology, cultivating an open environment, promoting the ethos, etc.

The Candidate

To be successful in this role youll be confident, self-motivated, and enthusiastic. You will have excellent organisational and planning skills together with an eye for attention to detail. Youll demonstrate strong all round communication skills and have previous experience of fundraising and bid writing, preferably within the charity sector.

Terms

  • This is a permanent, part-time position with flexible hours to suit, combining onsite and remote working.
  • The role is seeking 22 hours per week in a flexible working pattern to suit the successful candidate.They are open to most of the hours being worked during term times, with a light touch during holidays if the successful candidate requires this flexibility.
  • A salary of £29,000 - 34,000 (FTE*) is available depending on experience.
  • The role is office based in Tonbridge with plenty of free parking.
  • Other benefits include 22 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro-rata), increasing by one day for each year of services up to 25 days and an auto-enrol pension scheme.
