CAD Technician - Structural Steel

Our client, expert manufacturers and installers of bespoke mezzanine flooring solutions for commercial and industrial clients nationwide. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, tailor-made mezzanine floors they cater to a range of sectors including retail, warehousing, and logistics.

Due to company growth, they are now seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join their team, specialising in the design of structural steel mezzanine flooring. This is a fully office-based role. The successful CAD Technician will work closely with our engineering, sales, and project management teams to deliver accurate and efficient CAD designs for our bespoke mezzanine flooring projects.

CAD Technician - Structural Steel

Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for bespoke structural steel mezzanine floor projects
  • Interpret and translate client briefs, technical specifications, and architectural drawings into precise designs
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs are compliant with building regulations, safety standards, and client requirements
  • Modify and update existing drawings as projects evolve, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Provide technical support to the sales and installation teams, assisting with design-related queries
  • Liaise with suppliers to specify materials and components required for each project
  • Ensure design deadlines are met while maintaining the highest quality of work

CAD Technician - Structural Steel

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CAD Technician, preferably within the structural steel or mezzanine flooring industry
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or other relevant CAD software
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and installation processes
  • Familiarity with UK building regulations and industry standards for mezzanine flooring
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and structural specifications
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
