Job Overview:
We are currently recruiting for 10 pack house operatives to work in a busy warehouse on the outskirts of Maidstone. This is a permanent position starting mid-September.
Experience working in busy packhouse is an advantage however full training will be given.
To be considered for this position you must have your own transport as Location is remote and there is no public transport nearby.
For those willing to relocate we can provide details for nearby farm providing accommodation to seasonal workers – limited spaces available.
Please note - this is not a farm work and is not seasonal.
You will be employed as a full time packhouse operative
Main duties include but not limited to
- leading by example, by having a positive and professional attitude
- reducing waste where possible. (Ensure good fruit/packaging is not being wasted and ensure that good fruit is not unnecessarily handled or sorted)
- handling the fruit in a way which does not cause damage/quality issues.
- ensuring all unused packaging is returned at the end of each job
- ensure the health and safety standards of site, staff and product are met according to company policy, third party standards and law. (e.g. wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment)
- ensuring the food hygiene standards of site, staff and product are met according to company policy, third party standards and law. (e.g. follow correct dress codes.)
- Working to minimise the risk of any hazards identified within the Company
- Following “Clean as you go” and ensure “GMP” are followed at all times.
- Completing all relevant paperwork in full and to the highest standard in a timely fashion, ensuring that it is legible and signed and dated
Other
- Providing cover for colleagues when needed.
- carrying out all reasonable requests and have a willingness to show flexibility whilst maintaining a positive attitude to the work and work colleagues at all times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From
Day shift £11.44 per hour – overtime paid after 48h - £14.30 per hour
Night Shift - £14.30 per hour – overtime paid after 48h - £17.87 per hour
Expected hours: - 40h per week, overtime available throughout busy period

Monday – Sunday - 4 days out of 7 some shift will include weekend days
Day shift - 7am – 7pm - 10 hour shift
Night Shift 7:30 pm – 7:30am – 10h shift
