Health & Safety Manager- FMCGLocation: Tonbridge, KentSalary: £45,000 - £50,000 + benefits

A leading FMCG manufacturer is seeking a knowledgeable and driven Health & Safety Manager to lead on all matters relating to health, safety, and wellbeing across their site. This is an opportunity to join a well-established and innovative business where safety is central to its operations and culture.

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the company’s health and safety policies and procedures, while engaging and influencing teams at all levels to create a proactive safety-first environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with UK health and safety legislation and communicate effectively across all departments
  • Conduct regular risk assessments across the manufacturing operation and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Lead the audit schedule for the site management system, ensuring engagement across all relevant stakeholders and maintaining compliance
  • Prepare and present audit findings to senior leadership, ensuring visibility and continuous improvement
  • Ensure all emergency equipment is regularly inspected, maintained, and compliant with regulations
  • Design and deliver health and safety training programmes, including induction training for new starters
  • Investigate all workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Manage the health and safety budget, ensuring training and resources are appropriately planned and funded
  • Stay informed of current legislation, industry trends, and best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives

Skills and Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in a Health & Safety management role within an FMCG business
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications
  • Experience with Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
