About the Role:
A well-established and expanding manufacturing company is seeking a Laser Operator to join their production team. Operating from a state-of-the-art facility in Staplehurst, Kent, the business is experiencing significant growth, with new investments enhancing their production capacity and capabilities.
As a Laser Operator, you will play a vital role in the production process, operating advanced laser cutting machinery and collaborating closely with the design team to ensure components meet precise specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate fibre laser cutting machines and other CNC equipment to produce high-quality components.
- Work from engineering drawings to produce various items, from small, intricate batches to large panels.
- Collaborate with the design department to optimise material usage and cutting layouts.
- Ensure production deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of quality.
Essential Skills:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a machining environment.
- Hands-on experience with laser cutting machinery, such as Bystronics or LVD.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Team-oriented approach with a focus on meeting deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with ISO9001 quality systems.
- Proficient IT skills and experience with ERP systems.
- Understanding of Lean/5S principles.
- Organised and detail-oriented, with a proactive work ethic.
