We are seeking a Private Client Solicitor for our clients’ busy, expanding Private Client department in Tonbridge.

This respected law firm in Kent holds a notable position in the Legal 500 and often draws experienced City lawyers. In light of ongoing expansion, they are looking for a Private Client Solicitor with over 3 years of post-qualification experience to join their team in Tonbridge.

Responsibilities

This is a busy and varied role covering all aspects of private client work. Experience and knowledge is required in the following fields:

• Estate and Care Fees Planning
• Wills and Will Writing
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Court of Protection
• Trusts and Trust Administration
• Probate and Administration of Estates
• Inheritance Tax Planning and Investments
• Charities
• Deputyship

STEP would be preferable but not essential; the Firm assists in career development/studying and candidates undertaking STEP will also be considered.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor: 3 years min PQE
• STEP qualification or equivalent (desired)
• Additional relevant professional accreditations are desirable
• Consistent private client knowledge, focusing particularly on wills, trusts, estates and tax issues.
• Ability to manage caseload of files with minimal supervision.
• Ability to prioritise work and use initiative to meet deadlines
• Strong business development and networking skills are advantageous
• Excellent communication and client management abilities
