Engineering Manager (Mechanical & Electrical Engineering with Design Expertise)

Role Purpose: The Engineering Manager will oversee and manage the mechanical and electrical engineering teams, ensuring the design, development, and execution of engineering projects align with business objectives. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality, innovative solutions, maintaining operational efficiency, and driving continuous improvement within the engineering department.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers (mechanical, electrical, and design-focused).
  • Manage team workloads, project timelines, and resource allocation to meet deadlines.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative working environment.

Engineering & Design Oversight:

  • Oversee the design and development of mechanical and electrical systems/products.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.???????

Project Management:

  • Plan and manage engineering projects from concept to completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, procurement, etc.) to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Monitor project progress, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.

Technical Expertise:

  • Provide technical guidance and expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines.
  • Drive innovation and the adoption of new technologies or methodologies.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analysis for new projects.

Compliance & Quality:

  • Ensure all engineering activities adhere to relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain high standards of quality across all engineering deliverables.
  • Lead initiatives for process improvement and efficiency optimization.
  • Skills & Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High experience of hands-on experience.
  • A good number of years of experience in engineering management roles.
  • Proven track record in mechanical and electrical design projects.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other design tools.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and system integration.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certifications (e.g., ISO, ASME, IEEE).
  • Experience in prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.
