ROLE: Construction Buyer
LOCATION: Tonbridge, Kent
SALARY: £30,000 - £40,000 THE COMPANY

THE JOB
The client is looking for a dedicated and detail-orientated Construction Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis. As Buyer you will negotiate costs, meet/assess sub-contractors and suppliers whilst organising the materials and labour required for each project.
Your main duties will include
- Source and procure materials, plant, and subcontractor services for construction projects.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet project schedules.
- Evaluate supplier performance and seek opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
- Assist in resolving any supply chain issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and update procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes.

- Previous experience in a buyer position preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
