Shift Engineer (late shift) Our client is a well-established, fast-growing, and forward-thinking company specialising in the import of high-end specialty teas, herbs, and infusions from around the world. They are the UK’s market-leading contract packer for specialty teas, with a focused, friendly, and highly professional team. Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their team and appoint a Shift Engineer for the following shift: Hours: 2PM to 10PM, Monday to FridayLocation: Tonbridge, Kent Job Summary:The Shift Engineer will ensure a safe working environment and that all machines operate safely and efficiently. You will support the Site Engineer in controlling the stock of spare parts to ensure alignment with the speed of the production lines. Areas of Responsibility:
  • Machines and Workshop
Essential Functions:
  • Train all production staff to run machines satisfactorily without supervision
  • Ensure all machines are safe and compliant with legal standards
  • Support the implementation of the Preventative Maintenance Schedule
  • Adhere to Trading, Weighing, and Measures legislations
Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults
  • Diagnose breakdown problems
  • Fit new parts and ensure equipment is functioning correctly
  • Control maintenance tools and equipment
  • Address emergency, unplanned problems and repairs
Main Tasks:
  • Conduct daily startup checks
  • Perform in-house machine checks
  • Execute planned weekly and monthly maintenance
Job Knowledge/Skills/Experience:Essential:
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • People management skills
  • Teamwork capabilities
  • Ability to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures
  • Knowledge of health and safety in the engineering workplace
  • BTEC Level 3 in Operations and Engineering
Optional:
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Forklift License
