Hays have an exciting new role as a HR Generalist for a company based in Exeter.

Job Details:

  • This is a full-time, on-site role where you will be responsible for implementing HR policies and providing a first-class generalist HR service to managers and employees. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will play a key role in supporting the business objectives of the department and the company.


Main Duties:

  • Be a proactive member of the HR team, supporting the Head of HR as required
  • Work collaboratively with managers to handle disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, and other HR procedures
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and processes are applied consistently, fairly, and professionally in line with current legislation and company policy
  • Oversee all aspects of HR administration, delegating tasks to the HR administrator as appropriate
  • Liaise closely with and support the in-house recruitment team as needed
  • Assist with ad hoc HR-related projects


Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting disciplinaries, sickness management, and grievances from investigation to outcome
  • Thorough knowledge of UK employment law
  • Extensive employee relations experience
  • Experience providing operational advice on a range of employment matters to managers and employees
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
