Richardson Grand Hotel is a 4-star hotel situated on Torquays English Riviera, boasting 132 bedrooms with a Restaurant that can cater for up to 120 covers for dinner as well as 250 for breakfast. In addition to this there is a Brasserie which caters for 60 covers. The hotel is a successful wedding and events venue hosting up to 250 people, the hotel operates all year round. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a busy hotel or events venue.

As Sous Chef you will be expected to have excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills and a keen eye for detail. You should have experience in all aspects of kitchen management such as menu writing and costing, stock taking, rotas, cleaning schedules and dealing with suppliers.

You should be able to deputies the Head Chef in his absence.

  • As senior Sous Chef, you will be responsible for holding standards, driving skills and leading by example. You should be able to confidently showcase a finessed skillset in all sections as well as be capable of maintaining standards and inspiring the team to succeed.
  • Experience is a necessity with a calm and efficient mentality to solve problems before they arise.
  • Meticulous in detail and consistency but with the correct temperament to coach and teach others.
  • Ability to focus on completing tasks, managing your own section and able to assist others.
  • Ambition to succeed and improve.

The salary is based on 45 hours a week, the position is permanent and available for an immediate start live in accommodation is available on a temporary basis when relocating.
