About the Role: Join our dynamic team as a Senior Electronic Design Engineer in Torquay! We are looking for a talented individual with a diverse skill set in both analogue and digital electronics, covering hardware and firmware design for embedded microprocessor systems (ARM-based). This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative modules and sub-systems for various market segments, including industrial, aerospace & defense, and bio-photonics.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electronic design engineering from concept through to manufacture and testing.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and develop specifications for electronic sub-systems.
  • Design laser drivers, optical detection circuits, and digital control electronics.
  • Produce and maintain embedded firmware/software for opto-electronic sub-systems.
  • Perform reliability and parts stress analysis, as well as obsolescence management.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Engineering teams to explore new opportunities and generate solutions for customers.
  • Support gate reviews and manage the handover process from design to production.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven industrial experience in an electronics design and development function.
  • Strong background in analogue, digital, and mixed signal circuit design.
  • Experience in firmware/software development for ARM-based microcontrollers.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and layout (e.g., Altium).
  • Familiarity with prototyping and laboratory test equipment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering.
