Trainee Quantity Surveyor - Torquay
A great opportunity has arisen to join a leading construction company for an array of exciting new projects on a permanent basis. You will be supporting the commercial aspects of a project in new build and refurbishments within Education, Commercial, Retail, Leisure and Healthcare.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for construction projects
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) for materials, labor, and other project costs
  • Assist in the procurement of subcontractors, suppliers and materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and budgetary constraints
  • Monitor and track project costs, including variations, change orders, and progress payments, to ensure financial control and accuracy
  • Collaborate with the project team to review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Assist in the valuation of works and certification of payments to subcontractors in accordance with contractual agreements and project milestones
  • Participate in site visits and inspections to assess progress, quality, and compliance with specifications, identifying any potential issues or variations
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quantity surveying activities, including contracts, correspondence and financial reports
Requirements:
  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying or working towards
  • Experience in construction/similar position
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to perform accurate calculations and cost analysis
  • Relevant driving licence
