We're looking for a Business Support Officer to join our client on a temporary 12-week contract in Torquay.

  • Role: Business Support Officer
  • Contract: 12 week contract
  • Hours: Mon - Fri 37hours / week
  • Location: TQ2
  • Salary: £14-£16 /hour

As a Business Support Officer, your role will include:
  • Administrative and Operational Support: Manage diaries, meetings, travel arrangements, and events; maintain filing systems and records; handle phone and email correspondence.
  • Project and Document Management: Liaise with clients and partners, update contracts and documentation, create reports, and assist in project/task-related research.
  • Team and Client Support: Monitor helpdesk, manage job logs, communicate with contractors/suppliers, and collect customer feedback.
  • Data and Reporting: Update and maintain spreadsheets, track attendance/absence records, and compile data for Condition Surveys and Service Level Agreements.
  • Health & Safety and Policy Adherence: Ensure Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety policies are applied, while also providing training to new starters.

The successful Business Support Officer candidate will have:
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work well both independently and within a team.
  • Organisational & Multi-tasking Abilities: Strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks, prioritizing effectively, and meeting deadlines.
  • Customer Service & Attitude: Excellent internal and external customer service skills with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Technical Skills & Knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with basic financial understanding; knowledge of building maintenance is a plus.
  • Experience & Learning: Experience working in an office environment, with external agencies or consultants, and a willingness to learn about property services and local government.
