Step Teachers are looking for an MFL Teacher for a maternity cover role until the end of the academic year in a Secondary School in the North West Devon District. The role start as soon as possible and they are looking for an MFL Teacher who is able and confident to teach either French or Spanish to across both KS3 and 4. This is a full time position including planning and marking.

This Secondary School prides itself on being inclusive and helping every student to aim high and have the confidence to reach their goals. The school strives to provide a the opportunity for every student to reach their full potential. The school was graded ‘Good’ under the former Ofsted ratings for schools.

MFL Teacher Role:

  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum for French or Spanish
  • Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources
  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school
  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons
  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these

MFL Teacher Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching in Secondary School
  • Have recent mainstream Secondary School-based experience as an MFL Teacher
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
  • A relevant MFL, French or Spanish related degree is desirable.
  • SEND experience is desirable
