Job Advertisement: Grounds Maintenance Operative (Temporary)

Location: TQ9 5JD

Contract Type: 3-month contract with the possibility of an extension.

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, 08:00 - 16:00

Pay Rate: 12.59 per hour PAYE

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, most of your role will involve grass-cutting and related tasks to maintain the appearance and functionality of outdoor areas. Your responsibilities will include:

• We are performing routine grass-cutting and maintenance activities using appropriate equipment.
• Ensuring all grounds are kept clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing.
• Carrying out general gardening tasks such as weeding, planting, and pruning.
• Assisting with the upkeep of pathways, flowerbeds, and other landscaped areas.
• Operating and maintaining tools and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
• Adhering to health and safety guidelines while working on the grounds.
• Collaborating with the team to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.

Requirements: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance or a related field is desirable.
• Experience driving up to 3.5t LWB-type vehicles.
• Knowledge of grass-cutting techniques and equipment is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Basic understanding of health and safety protocols.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
