GSL Education is seeking a full-time Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs (SEN) in a school in Totnes. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, compassionate, and committed to helping children with Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties succeed in an educational setting. A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs.
- Assist in delivering individualised learning plans to support student progress.
- Encourage participation, independence, and confidence in the classroom.
- Support teachers in adapting resources and strategies to meet student needs.
- Help manage behaviour challenges through positive reinforcement.
- Supervise students during breaks, lunchtime, and school activities to ensure safety.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to support student development.
- Experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
- A strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to supporting young people.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.
- A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
