Contract: Full time, permanent
Working Hours: 08:45 - 16:45, Monday - Friday, term-time only
Salary: £24,410 - £39,300 per annum

We are looking for a dedicated English Teacher to join a highly regarded independent school in Totnes, where you can help students develop literacy skills and a love for learning in a nurturing environment.
The Role:
As an English Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEN. Working closely with school leaders, SENCOs and support staff, you will create a learning environment that builds confidence, communication skills and a love for literature.
All students will have complex learning needs, SEMH difficulties and challenging behaviour. Therefore, it is essential that you have excellent behaviour management skills, you’re incredibly resilient and patient.

About you:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Evidence of successful and recent teaching responsibility of English

Previous experience working with SEN is advantageous

You will be expected to work on outreach and at other school sites

Must be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle

A team player, who is able to establish rapport with students, staff and parents and carers

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
