Production Operator - (BGA)
Our client is a leading developer of boards used in ruggedised computing applications. They are hiring for a Production Operator with a high level of soldering experience for a 12 month temporary assignment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Experience with BGA machine operation which includes removal and placement of BGA components, IR and hot air BGA rework stations.
- Proficiency in surface mount soldering, BGA, LGA
- High level Solder skills for implementation of PCB rework
- Experience with hot air and hot plate rework techniques.
- Manual dexterity for microscopic work, ability to solder under microscope required.
- Ability to interpret assembly drawings and electrical schematics accurately (Cadread, ViseCad)
- Strong organizational skills, with a focus on attention to detail and process adherence.
- X-raying of electronic assemblies
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks in and around the operations environment as directed by the Operations Manager or Operations Supervisor
Desirable
- Operating/programming of 'ERSA' PL550L, ERSA PL650 IR machines
- Operating/programming of Summit 1800i Air BGA rework machine
- Operating X-ray machine
- Tasks are a combination of manual assembly and equipment operation, involve working with the aid of a microscope and tools for handling
- Perform manual soldering, attach passive components, perform rework on boards, change components,
- Perform manual die pick and placement using tweezers or pickup tools,
- Provide engineer support performing product failure analysis
- Support to other departments from time to time
- Working Knowledge of SAP
Qualifications
- IPC-610 standards (acceptability of electronic assemblies)
- J-STD-100 standards (requirements for soldering electronic assemblies)
- IPC7711/7721 (standards printed circuit board assembly, repairs, and modifications)
