Join a dynamic and innovative team designing world-class RF technologies for the defence, aviation, and spectrum monitoring markets. As a Project Engineering Lead, you will play a key role in leading engineering projects, including New Product Introduction (NPI) and revenue-generating initiatives. You will also oversee a team of engineers across multiple disciplines, contributing to cutting-edge product development in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.
This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders at every stage of the product lifecycle, from design through to production and support, ensuring delivery of groundbreaking solutions for critical applications.
What You Can Expect in This Role (Job Responsibilities)
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Supporting senior management with resource planning for engineering initiatives, including NPI and revenue-generating projects.
- Leading project management efforts, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
- Reporting on project status to senior management.
- Line managing a team of hardware and systems engineers.
- Managing contractors and external design houses.
- Tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) for the engineering department.
- Enhancing processes and tools to streamline operations.
- Acting as the key engineering contact throughout the product lifecycle:
- Collaborating with sales, operations, and production engineering.
- Supporting business development and customer support teams.
- Representing engineering during sales order acknowledgements.
What We Are Looking For (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We’re looking for someone who can bring the following to the team:
Required Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in delivering technical projects and products.
- Familiarity with small to medium-sized businesses.
- Project management expertise (e.g., risk logs, resource planning, action logs).
- Experience in line management.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 environments, processes, and procedures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to produce results under pressure.
Preferred Experience:
- 7+ years’ experience in a related role.
- Background in project and line management within the defence or aviation industries.
- Familiarity with RF technologies and related product portfolios.
- AMP, Prince2, or similar certifications.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Additional Information
- Security clearance eligibility required (British citizenship or equivalent).
- Onsite work (Wappenham, UK) with hybrid options (3 days onsite/2 remote).
- Collaboration with international teams, including remote work with counterparts in the US.
