Technical Project Manager

The Role:As a Technical Project Manager, you will play a vital role in managing key engineering projects within the Battlespace, Datalinks, and Spectrum Monitoring Systems (SMS) markets. This is a dynamic opportunity for a technically skilled professional to take on leadership responsibilities and further develop their project management expertise in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
This full-time, permanent position offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days in the office.
Your Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee engineering projects, including New Product Introduction (NPI) and revenue-generating initiatives. Ensure risk logs, action plans, and resource planning are effectively maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Team Development: Collaborate with engineering teams to create a supportive, growth-oriented environment that fosters personal and professional development.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact across departments (e.g., Business Development, Production, Customer Support) to ensure project objectives align with stakeholder needs.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the implementation of tools and processes to enhance departmental efficiency and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
- External Collaboration: Manage relationships with contractors, external design houses, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Who We’re Looking For:
Experience & Skills:
- Previous experience in project management or line management within engineering, ideally in a small to medium-sized business.
- A solid understanding of engineering principles and technical requirements, particularly within an ISO 9001 environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage resources, risks, and action plans effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (or equivalent work experience).
- AMP, Prince2, or similar certifications are desirable but not essential.
Additional Requirements:
- British citizenship or eligibility for UK security clearance.
