Electronics Development Engineer
Location: Northamptonshire

Job Overview:
A well-established company is seeking a skilled Electronics Development Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and testing of electronic assemblies integrated into mechanical packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electronic product development, working closely with a team of engineers to meet spatial constraints.
  • Design and layout PCBs, producing documentation for manufacturing.
  • Source, produce, and test prototypes as required.
  • Develop and test prototypes in compliance with EMC legislation (experience with automotive/aerospace standards is advantageous).
  • Identify and recommend improvements to optimize costs and technical performance.
  • Oversee qualification, testing, and compliance with EMC standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new technological innovations.
  • Document and report internal testing findings.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in both analogue and digital electronics hardware design.
  • Experience bringing products from concept to market (full product life cycle).
  • Understanding of EMC compliance and testing.
  • Knowledge of CAN bus networks (SAE J1939 preferred).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office, 365, Teams, ERP systems).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
