Justteachers are seeking a passionate and energetic PE/Sports Coach to join a dynamic and supportive SEN school in Towcester. This full-time role is available for an immediate start, with shortlisting and interviews currently underway. Initially offered on a supply basis, there is potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate.
The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for students with special educational needs (SEN), supporting their physical, emotional, and social development. As a PE/Sports Coach, you will play a key role in delivering tailored physical education lessons and activities that promote confidence, teamwork, and well-being in students with diverse needs.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Planning and delivering engaging and inclusive PE lessons that cater to a range of abilities and needs.
- Organising and leading a variety of adapted sports and physical activities during lessons, break times, and after-school clubs.
- Encouraging teamwork, resilience, and a positive attitude towards physical activity.
- Supporting students in developing their physical fitness, coordination, and confidence in a safe and structured environment.
- Using differentiated teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with SEN.
- Promoting the importance of health, well-being, and an active lifestyle among students.
- Preparing students for adapted sports competitions, matches, and events.
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained and used safely, following health and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and support staff to enhance students physical development and motor skills.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- A relevant coaching qualification or a degree in Sports Science, PE, or a related field.
- Experience coaching or teaching PE to children or young people, preferably in an SEN setting.
- A passion for sports and physical education, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- A full, clean driving licence, as the school's location requires reliable transport.
