We are partnering with an esteemed independent special school dedicated to supporting pupils aged 11 to 16 with a range of social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. Job Description:

As an Education Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 Support: Offer professional 1:1 support and supervision for pupils aged 11 to 18, fostering their engagement in the learning process and working towards specific aims and objectives.
  • Individual Learning Plans: Plan, deliver, and document sections of individual learning programmes tailored to pupils' needs, ensuring they receive personalised support.
  • Emotional Well-Being: Support vulnerable young people, enhancing their emotional well-being, raising their aspirations, and assisting them in achieving their full potential.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assist the classroom teacher in managing pupil behaviour, delivering lessons, and creating a positive learning environment.
  • Monitoring Progress: Regularly monitor and record pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and other professionals as required.
  • Resource Preparation: Prepare and organise educational materials and resources to support learning activities.
  • Specialist Interventions: Implement specialist interventions as directed by SENCO or other professionals to support pupils' specific needs.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to each pupil's education and care.
  • Safeguarding: Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the safety and well-being of all pupils.
  • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay updated with best practices in SEN education.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working with SEN children in the UK.
  • Must have an active DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Availability for full-time work during term time only.
