Due to company expansion, our client is looking for experienced support practitioners or support workers to join their team in Tranent. The role would be permanent full time with a range of great benefits. You would be working with adults with a variety of needs such as learning disabilities, dementia, autism, mental health and physical disabilities, however experience working with these groups is not essential just experience caring for others and a willingness to learn is all you need. Our client will provide full training and put you through SVQ qualifications to allow you to develop your career and increase your knowledge. The most important thing is that you have a strong work ethic, compassion and a desire to learn and support vulnerable people.

About the role:

You would be working with service users in their own homes, in the community and sometimes within residential environments. You will be assisting service users with all aspects of their daily lives. Each individual is different and requires unique care which is provided by individualised care plans. You will assist people with planning for their future and to prevent the effects of social isolation and loneliness. You will be working with others and building strong relationships with your team and service users. Supporting people to reach their full potential and lead independent lives. You will be creating and adapting care plans to ensure they are most beneficial to current circumstances and resources available.There is a mixture of shift patterns available with day shifts being the primary type of shift worked.

About you :

  • 1 year of experience in care
  • Eligible to work in the UK (there is no sponsorship available for this role)
  • Able to reliably commute to Tranent
  • Willingness to learn and develop your career
  • Caring and compassionate with a genuine interest in helping people
