We are in search of an Assistant Accountant who will play a key role in supporting our Accounting & Finance Department within our Industrial / Manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and demonstrate an eagerness to further their career in finance.

Description

· Preparation of management accounts, including but not limited to; calculating and posting customer rebates, reviewing cost centre overheads and conducting cost centre reviews, posting accruals and prepayments, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, including control accounts

· Maintenance of intangible assets, including trademarks and patents

· Responsible for UK Accounts Payable; checking and processing supplier invoices, maintaining and updating AP ledger, preparing supplier payment runs, reviewing GRNI account

· Tax compliance: liaising with external partners and providing data and reports to support timely submission of external returns, for example VAT

· Sales reporting; preparation of daily/monthly reporting for sales teams

· Financial analysis; review and analyse sales, gross margins and overheads, reporting on variances

· Supporting the co-ordination of the half-yearly stock take

· General support to other colleagues in the Finance team and other tasks, such as processing out-of-pocket expenses

Profile

A successful Assistant Accountant should have:
