A dynamic Team Leader is sought to lead a team of technicians and analysts, ensuring operational demands are met and aligning with customer expectations. Reporting directly to the QC Manager, the Team Leader plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the laboratory’s performance and compliance with GMP standards.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plans and prioritises daily workload in alignment with customer requirements, adapting as necessary.
  • Reviews analytical data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with documented procedures.
  • Ensures the laboratory team adheres to safe working practices and company standards, fostering a safe, positive, and achievement-oriented environment.
  • Collaborates closely with the QC Manager and other departments, such as Supply Chain and Planning, to optimise laboratory performance in testing both incoming starting materials and outgoing finished products.
  • Manages daily scheduling plans for Operations, ensuring the team is effectively scheduled and resourced.
  • Balances operational demands with team needs, such as annual leave requests, and ensures necessary laboratory supplies are available.
  • Tracks and trends relevant KPIs for the QC department and drives continuous improvement activities to streamline QC procedures and processes.
  • Participates in on-site customer audits and visits, acting as the main point of contact for escalations, particularly for out-of-specification results or supplier documentation issues.
  • Leads and manages the team, promoting ownership and professional development among team members.
  • Communicates and collaborates efficiently across departments, ensuring effective communication and cohesion between laboratory shifts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a QC or similar laboratory setting.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing KPIs and driving continuous improvement.
  • Ability to train and mentor team members.
