Our client based in Tredegar is seeking a Toolmaker to join their dynamic team, responsible for the servicing and maintenance of all injection moulding and press tools on site. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and possesses a strong understanding of tool maintenance.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work as part of the core toolmaking team to carry out tasks unsupervised, resolving tooling breakdowns and completing improvement tasks and planned maintenance.
  • Support the Tooling Engineer in achieving all maintenance tasks on tooling.
  • Conduct maintenance health and safety, and environmental tasks including legionella checks, fire alarm system checks, and risk assessments.
  • Update and maintain various spreadsheets related to weekly maintenance workload and team efficiencies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Completion of a 4-year indentured apprenticeship.
  • City & Guilds or O.N.C in mechanical or electrical engineering is beneficial.
  • Experience in an injection moulding/manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of injection moulding tools, press/deep drawing tools, and general maintenance tools.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance techniques such as predictive and planned maintenance.
