Manpower is recruiting Catering Assistants on behalf of our public sector client.

Location: Treorchy
Job Type: Part time
Contract: Temporary, ongoing
Hours: Shifts are 7.30 am - 6.30 pm
Hourly rate: 12.36 weekdays | Saturdays 17.43 | Sundays and Bank Holidays 22.62
Start date: Immediate subject to satisfactory standard DBS check and written references.

The role
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a quality catering service across all areas. You will be working in a fast-paced and supportive environment, helping to ensure that our patients and staff receive their meals.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of food for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensure food hygiene standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Support the smooth running of both kitchen and patient catering services.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Assist with food stock control and deliveries.
  • Work to strict deadlines to ensure everyone is served and fed on time.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed in an efficient and timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Previous catering or kitchen experience
  • Knowledge of food hygiene standards (training will be provided).
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively, ensuring all patients and staff are served on time.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict health and safety regulations.
  • Flexibility to work across different shifts and areas of the catering service.
