1:1 Learning Support Assistant
Primary School | Merton (SW19)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a wonderful primary school in Merton (SW19). The successful candidate will provide tailored support to a child with specific learning needs, ensuring they have access to a high-quality education and the best possible learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs (SEN) under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
  • Implement individualized learning plans and strategies.
  • Support the pupil's social and emotional development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on the pupil's progress to the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support for the pupil. - Help with personal care tasks, if required. - Attend relevant training and professional development sessions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in a school setting.
  • Understanding of SEN and experience in supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. - Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning).
