CHP Operator

Astute's Power team is exclusively partnering with a leading timber processing and energy organisation to recruit a CHP Operator to work at their facility in Troon, Scotland.
This CHP Operator role comes with a an hourly rate of 13-14.50 per hour + 30% shift allowance + benefits.

Reporting to the CHP Manager, you will:

• Perform routine operations and maintenance tasks to ensure the plant operates at maximum efficiency and availability.
• Manage material handling processes, including operating heavy machinery such as loaders, telehandlers, and forklifts.
• Monitor and maintain key systems, including belt dryers, walking floors, and silos, to ensure optimal heat and power delivery.
• Conduct quality control activities such as sampling fuel moisture content, calorific values, and residue density.
• Respond to system alarms and adjust operational set points as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to scheduled maintenance tasks to support 24/7 plant operation.

We are looking for someone with the following:

• A relevant engineering qualification is desirable.
• Experience in a similar heavy industry such in an operations position.

The CHP Operator role would suit someone who:

• Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted working relationships.
• Thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment and is confident working at heights or with heavy machinery.

• 13-14.50 per hour + 30% shift allowance paid on all shifts.
• 4 on 4 off, days and nights, 12 hour days.
• Holiday allowance
