This role is for a Laboratory R&D Manager for one of our key clients, requiring an experienced Laboratory Manager ideally from an Industrial setting. The successful candidate will be based at our clients site based in South Ayrshire.

Description

  • The Laboratory Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of the laboratory, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant environment.
  • This role involves overseeing laboratory staff, equipment, and resources to support research, development, and testing activities.
  • Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with Company requirements.
  • Oversee laboratory budgets and resources to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee laboratory maintenance and repairs, including preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor laboratory performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with research and development teams to provide laboratory support and expertise.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of laboratory results.
  • Conduct quality audits and inspections to identify and address non-compliance issues.

Profile

A successful Laboratory R&D Manager should have:

  • Degree in Biology, Chemistry; Biochemistry; Microbiology or similar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO, GLP, GMP).
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in laboratory management software and data analysis tools.
