Your new companyWe are seeking a dedicated Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join on a permanent basis. The LADO will play a crucial role in safeguarding children by managing and overseeing allegations against adults who work with children. This position requires a strong understanding of child protection procedures and the ability to work collaboratively with various agencies.Your new role

  • Manage and oversee allegations against adults working with children.
  • Provide advice and guidance to employers and voluntary organisations.
  • Ensure that all allegations are handled in accordance with statutory guidance and local procedures.
  • Liaise with police, social care, and other relevant agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce reports as required.
  • Deliver training and support to staff and partner agencies.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in child protection and safeguarding.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage complex cases.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
