The RoleWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled Learning Support Assistant to support children with complex needs. You will play a key role in assisting students with their learning, care, and development. The role requires someone who is patient, resilient, and experienced in working with children or young people with significant needs. Main Responsibilities

  • Support children with complex needs.
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, and medical needs in line with care plans.
  • Support learning activities designed to meet individual developmental goals.
  • Use specialist equipment to support student engagement and safety.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and well-being.
  • Ensure students' safety, dignity, and welfare are maintained at all times.

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience working with students with complex needs, including PMLD.
  • Ability to support personal care and use specialist equipment (training provided where necessary).
  • Valid driving license and access to a car (some travel between sites may be required).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach.

Desirable Criteria

  • Relevant qualification in education, health, or care (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Health and Social Care).
  • Experience in a specialist setting.
  • Training in Moving and Handling, Makaton, or communication aids.
