Build Maintain Recruit Limited is proud to be partnering with a highly regarded organisation to find an Infrastructure / Civil engineer to join their Truro team. This is your chance to join a thriving infrastructure department working on diverse and impactful projects across the South West.

Position Overview
Build Maintain Recruit Limited is seeking a graduate Infrastructure / Civil Engineer with at least 2 years of industry experience to contribute to a range of projects, from residential to commercial, providing innovative engineering design and client support. You’ll be involved from the early feasibility stages, influencing masterplans, through planning, detailed design and construction. Depending on experience, there will be opportunities to lead or assist in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects.
This role offers the chance to produce high-quality designs for highways, drainage, flood risk advice, earthworks and more, ensuring compliance with technical standards and legal requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients and design teams (internal and external) to deliver optimal solutions.
  • Produce designs for highways, street layouts, engineering levels, drainage, and surfacing.
  • Lead or assist in project delivery, contributing to work-winning, workload management, and budget control.
  • Liaise with consultants across disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.

What we’re looking for

  • A graduate with a relevant qualification (BEng, MEng, BSc, MSc, HND, or HNC) in Civil Engineering and at least 2 years of industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK legal processes, technical standards, and design codes (e.g., Manual for Streets, DMRB).
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Flow, and Causeway PDS.
  • Ability to design for engineering levels, drainage, and adoption procedures (Section 38, 278, 104).
  • A proactive mindset and desire to grow professionally.
