Finance Manager - Truro / Hybrid - £/benefits: Generous!

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively selected to assist a genuine Cornish success story with the recruitment of their new Finance Manager. There’s something really quite special about this opportunity - a very fast growing business with an experienced SMT and ambitious plans for the future! Headed up by a down to earth yet super motivated and highly entrepreneurial team, the company operates businesses across a multitude of sectors - all highly profitable and poised for further expansion. This appointment is offered as a full time, permanent contract to be based from the company’s headquarters in Truro, and with a hybrid/flexible option to suit the successful candidate.

Working closely alongside the company directors and supported by a highly competent Assistant Accountant, the successful candidate will assume the lead for all operational aspects of the company’s financial controls, also contributing commentary on strategic direction. This will be broad and interesting opportunity where the FM will also be invited to assist in other areas of the business operations. Key responsibilities to include:

- Preparation of high quality management accounts with commentary for each business entity

- Preparation of statutory financial accounts and general HMRC reporting (VAT etc.)

- Ensure accuracy of ledger accounts for the group of companies

- Budgeting, forecasting and general cashflow monitoring

- Supervision of supplier payment runs

- Monitoring of the aged debt book, acting where required

- Preparation of KPIs for business performance analysis

- Support and mentor a long standing Assistant Accountant, potentially growing the finance team in the future

- Prepare for first annual audit (anticipated shortly)

- Liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders

- Assisting in other areas of the group administration (HR, recruitment, marketing initiatives etc.)

For this role we ideally seek a professionally qualified individual (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), but are open to applicants that possess suitable vocational experience. Experience gained within a multi-faceted commercial SME environment would be advantageous but not essential, and our client welcomes candidates moving from another commercial environment or as a first move from accountancy practice. This is not a role for a "back office" member of the team, it’s a role for a forward thinking, personable and dynamic individual who wants their opinion to be considered and ideas implemented. Suitable applicants should possess recently gained high-level finance exposure and ideally have experience in managing a small team. The company has invested heavily in the use of technology and confidence in using cloud-based digital accounting platforms would be preferable.

This is an interesting and prosperous business and this opportunity represents a great time to join a fast growing group of companies. For further details and to apply, please contact Steve Roach quoting reference SR10232 ASAP.
