Hunter AHP are seeking an experienced Independent Prescriber Pharmacist to join the team at a dynamic GP surgery on a remote, locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work flexibly from home while contributing to patient care in a forward-thinking primary care setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct remote consultations with patients via telephone or video.
  • Review and prescribe medications in accordance with treatment plans and guidelines.
  • Provide expert clinical advice and support to GPs and healthcare professionals.
  • Manage repeat prescriptions and medication reviews.
  • Support chronic disease management, including conditions such as hypertension, asthma, and diabetes.
  • Contribute to improving medicines optimisation and patient safety.
  • Update clinical records accurately in line with GP surgery protocols.
Essential Requirements:
  • GPhC registered pharmacist with Independent Prescriber qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a primary care setting (GP surgery experience desirable).
  • Confidence in managing a wide range of medical conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical systems (e.g., EMIS, SystmOne) or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
