Part Time Human Resources Professional - Truro - £30-40,000 FTE

Well Placed HR have been exclusively engaged by a fast growing start up business operating in the services sector, who seek to recruit an HR professional to help them implement robust HR tools and policy as the company headcount continues to increase. This is a part time role initially working one day per week and to be based at the company’s headquarters in Truro (with some potential for hybrid support in the future). The role would be equally well suited to a self-employed HR Consultant as it would a candidate seeking part time employment - our client is very flexible as to the contract type (permanent, interim, Ltd company, PAYE etc.).

Working closely with the company directors, the successful candidate will assume full responsibility for the design and implementation of all aspects of the company’s HR policy, practice and procedures ensuring strict adherence with UK employment law and maintaining high quality employee relations. Key responsibilities to include:

- Play a lead role in contributing to the people management strategy of a growing business

- Design and implement a range of HR documentation to include staff handbooks, contracts, absence policies etc.

- Utilise digital HR tools for storing and updating documentation

- Develop suitable L&D programs

- Work closely with directors and managers to ensure best HR practices and high quality ER

- Play a key role in staff recruitment and onboarding

- Provide HR advice and support to directors, managers and employees

For this role we seek a candidate with a strong, well rounded understanding of all aspects of people management, best practices and UK employment law. The successful candidate may be suitably qualified CIPD or consider themselves to be qualified through vocational experience, ideally within a small/start-up business environment. Experience of managing international contractors would be advantageous but not essential. The business is technology driven so good general IT experience and a good understanding of digital HR tolls and platforms will be essential. This will also be a highly visible role within the company so excellent development, mentoring and team-working skills will be a must!
