About Us:

We are working with a diverse and vibrant primary school in the Borough of Newham. The role of the behaviour Mentor has never been more important the school continue to build their SEND department in order to meet the needs of all students. The successful applicant will be a kind, resilient, nurturing, well qualified individual who understands the importance of relationships, patience, understanding and respect, whilst managing to respond to the complex needs and requirements of the students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with students who require additional support or have specific learning needs.
  • Conducting regular assessments and tracking student progress.
  • Collaborating with teachers and parents.
  • To provide support with the hourly management of busy corridors, supporting students who have been exited from their classroom.
  • To provide support for students on out of school transfers by attending meetings and supporting by visiting student.
  • To support with the internal reflexion space team in managing student behaviour and demonstrating high standards.
  • To support students back into lesson after spending time on external school transfers and internal reflexion space time.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Childcare qualification or equivalent
  • Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEND
  • Knowledge: Understanding of SEN and behaviour
  • Desirable: Experience working with children with SEND within a school setting
